Course Objectives: 

Collection management is an area of specialization within the museum profession.The goal of this course is to introduce fundamentals of this profession and provide an opportunity to develop proffesional skills and knowledge as related to collections management field.

Course Content: 

This course will cover a variety of topics related to collections and the management of collections. It covers collecting history and collection policies, collection management processes and preventive conservation. The participants of this course will be able to follow up-to-date academic discussions on museum conservation and collection management topics and have opportunity to compare collection management practices in different parts of the world
