Course Objectives: 

This course provides a survey of the interrelated issues and concepts of the social, political, economic and environmental aspects of urbanization. It explores the political economy of urbanization on different scales scale and highlights trends in urbanization that significantly impact the environment.

Course Content: 

In this course,  while urban history in the world and Turkey, urban and urbanization concepts are explaining, theoretical background of the urbanization and values ​​are based on the general principles and concepts discussed, and in this context the problems of urbanization in Turkey, squatters, the historical development of urbanization , housing policy, urban and regional planning principles and rules, in short, the problematic aspects of urbanization, detailed solutions and the impact of local governments on urbanization process will be examined.
