Local Governments and Governance Master's Program (Thesis / Non-Thesis) established under the Department of Public Administration examines local governments due to its content. In the program, local development policies, urban sociology, urban politics, and environmental policies, and governance concepts that envisage a more dynamic public structure based on the rapidly spreading principles of transparency, accountability, and participation are discussed in detail. The program focuses on the interaction and cooperation of multiple actors - public institutions, local governments, private sector, non-governmental organizations, international institutions, and citizens.
The aim of the program is to ensure that the knowledge of local governments and governance can be developed and deepened at the expert level. In addition, the education provided and the program carried out to allow us to comprehend interdisciplinary interaction. Another aspect of the program is to be able to discuss, make a presentation, and express himself / herself professionally and academically on a work that requires expertise in local governments and governance within an intellectual framework.

VISION
The governance phenomenon that is spreading rapidly in the world is to create a dynamism based on the interaction and cooperation of public institutions, local governments, the private sector, non-governmental organizations, international institutions and citizens with the principle of addressing local governments, local development policies, urban sociology, urban politics and environmental policies. It is certain that the dynamism will find a wide place in university programs. It is aimed that for the program, which was founded with this vision, to be one of the premium programs in this subject.
MISSION
The achieved success in the Undergraduate Program of Public Administration has led to the opening of a more specific master's program. To provide that Local Governments and Governance in the field of expertise to be able to develop and to get closer to the objectives of the intellectual framework to discuss, and to make presentations, and for professional and academic skills to be able to express themselves.
Application Conditions:
Candidates graduated from a higher education institution with a 4 year undergraduate education in Turkey, departments such as Public Administration, Political Science and Public Administration, Political Science, International Relations, Political Science and International Relations and Law, can directly start the program but also the students who graduated from other branches of the departments are applied to the scientific preparatory program.
Master’s Degree Programs Admission Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or recognized equivalent from an accredited institution.
- For Research Master’s degree programs (Master’s degree programs with thesis), the minimum required ALES score is 55. (Test results older than five years from the date of the application are not valid and will not be accepted). Candidates who do not have ALES certificate at the application date may register as a "special student".
- For English language proficiency, the minimum required YOKDIL/YDS score is 55 and TOEFL score is 66. Passing Yeditepe University English proficiency examination with success is accepted. Graduation from a fully English-language university is acceptable.
