Course Objectives: 

This Special Topics course is designed for graduate students interested in developing and increasing their knowledge of a specific topic within the field of film studies. It will provide them with the opportunity to explore special areas of interest and contemporary debates related to cinema. Course topics may include the study of specific film genres, authors, film movements and styles, certain national cinemas, new technologies and film, film and media cultures, cultural studies and cinema, gender and cinema, film industry, film and philosophy, film and music, film sound, film adaptations, alternative film practices and other special topics.

Course Content: 

The topics e.g., distribution system, censorship system, social realism, national cinema thesis.
