Course Objectives: 

This course aims to introduce the relationship between societal structures and media. Within the sociological, political, economic, historical framework, several themes will be discussed. Oral/written culture, enlighment and modernity, industrialisation and urbanisation, culture industries, postmodernity, digital culture, globalisation will be the moments of the course. By the end of the semester students are expected to gain the skills to evaluate and discuss the issues critically in the field from a scientific perspective.
