The course helps students analyze the relation between communication and culture in detail. They gain the ability to scrutinize the concepts of language, communication and culture from the perspective of symbolic and interpretative anthropology.
The course deals with culture, which has been transformed by the changing communication patterns along with the development of communication technologies, from the perspectives of semiotics, the critical school and cultural studies.
