About Department

As Yeditepe University Turkish Language and Literature Department, we are proud to have opened the "Modern Turkish Literature Doctorate Program" after the "Comparative Literature Master's Program".

Turkish Language and Literature Department has been training educators and researchers since 1996 and Comparative Literature Master's Program since 2006. We sincerely believe that the New Turkish Literature Doctorate Program will rapidly rise on the foundations of this deep past and rich accumulation, and will bring new excitements and perspectives to Turkish literature research.

Our experienced and well-equipped academic staff; It gives us the confidence and hope needed for a program of both high quality and universal criteria. We know very well what to do, where to walk, and where to arrive.

We have created our pool of compulsory and elective courses with a content and diversity that can reach all areas of Turkish literature and establish relations with other social sciences. In addition, considering that the main material of literature is language, we have carefully placed contemporary approaches to language and linguistics in our program. We are aware that original, free and creative thinking needs a solid knowledge of language, meaning and perception above all else. Essentially, our primary goal will be to develop research, critique, analysis and interpretation skills and to carry out systematic practices in the Modern Turkish Literature Doctorate Program.
