The aim of this course is to investigate certain theories of ethics thoroughly throughout the history of philosophy using original texts of philosophers as source material.
An inquiry on the fundamental concepts of ethics, which is concerned with ethical action determined through values like good, bad, etc., and, the ethical agent who is held responsible for her/his actions. An analysis of the discussions from Aristotle to Kant on virtue, evil, moral law, and, of the discussions from post-Kantian philosophy on, an era in which the value of ethics itself also undergoes questioning.
