Deniz Tansi was born in İstanbul in 1971. His primary, secondary and high school education have all taken place in İstanbul. As a major, he studied Journalism and Public Relations in Istanbul University during the years 1988-1992. After graduation, he enrolled in the M.A. program in the Department of Public Relations at Yeditepe University and wrote a thesis on “Public Relations Processes in Political Parties of Turkey”. Then, he started with his Ph.D. studies in the Political and Social Sciences Program in Marmara University. Finally, he became a PhD. after successful completion of his dissertation on “Influence of Nationalistic Discourse on the General Elections after the Military Coup on September 12, 1980”.
Before joining the academia, Tansi had worked as an advisor in the Turkish Grand National Assembly between the years 1993-1994. He had also worked as Director of Public Relations in several private schools during the period 1994-1997. Then, he became a full time research assistant in Communication Faculty of Yeditepe University in 1997. Subsequently, he started his teaching career as an instructor in the Department of Journalism in 2001. Finally, he was promoted to the post of Assistant Professorship by Yeditepe University in 2004. Tansi was delegated by Yeditepe University to Economic and Administrative Sciences Faculty Public Administration Department in the year of 2005. He was head of Public Administration Department among 2007-2009. Deniz Tansi was Vice Dean of Graduate School of Social Sciences in Yeditepe University from 2013 to 2016. Also he lectures Turkish Foreign Policy , Middle East, Political Parties, Turkish Public Administration, courses in the same university.
