Course Description
Introduction to antennas; fundamentals of antenna parameters (polarization, gain, input impedance, losses, and others); different types of antennas, smart antennas, antenna design for remote sites and wireless base stations; statistical electromagnetic wave propagation in urban and rural environments; a general view of cellular and personal communication systems and applications; theoretical, experimental and statistical models for propagation; estimation of signal levels at the receiver by using the propagation models; interruption of signals because of different propagation ways; diversity; design of location of a cell.
