Course Description
henomenological nature of metals, yield criteria for 3-D states of stress, geometric representation of the yield surface. Levy-Mises and Prandtl- Reuss equations, associated and nonassociated flow rules, Drucker’s stability postulate and its consequences, consistency condition for nonhardening materials, strain hardening postulates. Elasticplastic boundary value problems. Computational techniques for treatment of small and finite plastic deformations.
