Elective List

A study of the major poets of the Victorian period, including Tennyson, Browning, Matthew Arnold, A.H. Clough, Swinburne, Dante Gabriel Rossetti and Christina Rossetti. Themes to be explored include religious faith and doubt, the role of the poet in society and the interactions between poetry and the visual arts.
