Course Objectives: 

The aim of this course is ground the students in the cultural and sociological basics to be able to understand contemporary works of art, especially performing arts within the social context they’ve been produced. You will be able to analyze performances and theater works and to get to know compenents of new trends in today’s performances.

Course Content: 

1) Definition of performing arts.

2) Drama as it relates to the performing arts.

3) The functions of drama in societies.

4) History of Performance art
