Students are aimed to gain a critical perspective based on theoretical knowledge. In order to create the advertisement campaigns, it is aimed to help the student to reach the creative idea of the advertisement by determining the characteristics of the society with culture, aesthetics and visual analysis in order to attract the attention of the target audience.
This course explains to students the concept of research and brief in the ad design process, market and competitor analysis, definition of target audience, the importance of demographic features and cultural phenomena in terms of advertising strategy, the effectiveness of advertising on sales or awareness. As a graphic designer, they gain theoretical knowledge about the advertising industry. Visual elements and cause-effect relationships in advertisements are explained, and social responsibility of the advertisement is explained and at the same time, critical thinking skills are gained about media and advertisements. Students make presentations by examining current advertising campaigns.
