Course Objectives: 

This is an elective graduate course aiming to enhance printmaking techniques and create enhanced compositions. They are encouraged to participate in exhibitions, festivals etc. in Istanbul.

Course Content: 

To be a good graphic designer, students should be inspired by fine arts. We encourage students to discover their artistic personality besides learning technical application. Otherwise, we would have raised craftsmen, technicians without creativity. We try to evoke creative awareness by in class discussions and feedbacks.

Course Flow

COURSE CONTENT

1 Talking about the history of printmaking.  
2 Preparation and lacquering of plates  
3 Transferring the sketches to the plate and lacquering.  
4 Making rehearsals and transferring them to plates  
5 Making and printing the original prints.  
6 Preparation of new plates for making aquatinta in addition to the linear studies.  
7 Creating new sketches and transferring them to the plates.  
8 Carving the sketches with acid and applying aquatint where necessary.  
9 Making proof prints  
10 MIDTERM  
11 The actual printing of the molds with proofs and corrections is done with professional wool methods.  
12 Making new sketches that we can use Aquatint and sugar technique together, transferring the sketches to the plates and reworking the plates.  
13 Making proof prints and reworking plates  
14 Making prints with professional methods, reprocessing and numbering.
