Course Objectives: 

This course aims to teach creating visual communication solutions for local or global social issues, designing to create awareness and having experimental and artistic point of view.

Course Content: 

Students make a graduate level research, produce creative images with technological, traditional or both graphic design techniques create a concept, define the typographic elements and designs posters. They gain advanced graphic communication knowledge, improve designing skills with many visual creating techniques, improve research skills and deeply understands His/hers effectiveness and influence as a designer.

1 General Introduction, First Things First Manifesto and discussion of the designer's effectiveness on social issues;  
2 Analysis and explanation of graphic elements in Poster Design (theory: image-type-message-composition-techniques-formules)  
3 Review of Posterposter.org - Design for Poster Monday (free topic: local or global current problem will be identified and researched, sketches will be made throughout the course, messages and techniques will be discussed for the chosen sketch, design will be started - 10%, visa)  
4 Continued - Design for Poster Monday (design will be completed in class)  
5 Demonstration of examples from Good50x70 posters and class discussion  
6 Posterfortomorrow.org - Poster For Tomorrow 2017: Poster design sketches (idea sharing) for Freedom Of Movement - 20% visa  
7 Posterfortomorrow.org - Poster For Tomorrow 2017: Poster design sketches for Freedom Of Movement (image and message sharing)  
8 Posterfortomorrow.org - Poster For Tomorrow 2017: Poster design application for Freedom Of Movement (last week)  
9 10% blankposter + 10 %postermonday + 20% freedom of movement = 40% VISA  
10 Tibor Kalman, COLORS Magazine and Benetton sample (Trademarks and social responsibility)  
11 A design will be made for the selected foundation or organization (brochure, flyer, poster, promotional material, social media advertisement, current subject / requirement and a graphic product will be selected.  
12 Graphic product design: content organization and sketches  
13 Sketching with the foundation or organization  
14 Completed sharing with the foundation and recent revisions.
