Course Objectives: 

Designed products, that are originated from local cultures, create difference and stand out more than ever in the globalized world. In this course, the icons that represent the various cultures in Turkey are analyzed in their historical context. The course aims to create awareness on metaphorical cultural icons on students' minds and utilize them as fundamental elements in their designs.

Course Content: 

Speed of access to massive amount of information opens the doors of the world to masses of people. However in the cultural industry of Turkey there exist inability to create icons or reiterate existing ones and relate them to the global culture. To overcome these our topmost priority will be in order for presenting the visualization of the values of Turkey, cradle of civilizations, to be able to blend the unique visual treasures with the global culture that we have to coprehend and interpret.
