The course aims for students to acquire and develop a general insight, capability and sensory abilities about the combination of sound design and visuality.

Course Content: 

Students acquire general information about sound design on video and animation, sound editing, balance and harmony of sound with visual, programs about sound production.

2 Examination Of Several Examples – Musıc Watching the examples of sound and visuality combination (moving graphic over sound design, audio-visual performances, sound installation) and several music and sound design listening (electroacoustic music, fieldrecordings, soundscapes)
3 Introduction To Adobe Audition – Sound Editing Basic introduction to Adobe audition programme (presentation of the programme’s interface, sound import, sound editing, volume adjustements, exporting)
4 Sound Application On Visuality (Adobe Audition) + Homework Essays of sound editing on video, sound and movement harmony, essays of description of movements by sound. Essays of sound bibliography creation with sound editing on video.
5 Foley Technique – Foley Performance Essay- Basic Sound Record Techniques (Adobe Audition + Recording Gadget) Watching Foley related examples (several hollywood made sound effect making off documentations), foley performance essay with students’ objects, sound record essay by zoom record gadget. 
6 Sound Editing On Mixing And Visual (Adobe Audition) – Guest Artist Basic mixing techniques of a already recorded sound or a sound (compression, volume balance, reverb, delay) and sound design over a visual – Guest Artist ( Alp Çoksoyluer)
7 Student Presantation Students are asked to realize a sound design over an animation with the help of a sound that they will record themselves.

9 Listening – Sample Observation – Introduction To Ableton Live – Guest Artist Audiovisual performance (guest artist Giray Gürkal + ? ), general sample observation, general outlook to Ableton live programme.
10 Basic Sound Application Techniques (Ableton Live ) Effects application to a sound by Ableton live’s different effects and methods, alteration.
11 Basic Sound Editing And Production Technıques (Ableton Live) + Homework Sound effects application to a sound by Ableton live’s several effects and methods, alteration. Basic sound production techniquesi. Production of 5 different sounds from a single sound as a homework.
12 Introduction And Description Of The Graphic Notation Technique – Sample Observation Description of graphic notation technique, its use technique, observation of the samples. Conceptual importance and history of graphic notation.
13 Essays Of Graphic Notation Techniques + Homework Essays by the use of graphic notation technique. Which visual forms can match with sounds? Thinking the sound’s visual reflection. Production of different forms and finding its sound equavalent as a homework.
