Course Objectives: 

The course provides fundamental concepts students need to understand the most pertinent issues in contemporary China. The running theme through the course is not so much to understand the ‘mysteries’ of China but is instead focused on cataloguing previous attempts. Students are encouraged to identify common stereotypes regarding China and avoid repeating them in their own approach.

Course Content: 

Specific regions that has cultural importance will be covered according to anthropological point of view. Especially published works based on original sources of the regions will be examined in details. This course also provides students to get detailed and holistic view about subject region’s cultural existence.
