Course Objectives: 

The aim of the course is to provide knowledge about quantitative and qualitative methods and develop a general understanding about social research. This course leads into a consideration of the relationship between the principles and practice of quantitative and qualitative research together with a discussion of the conduct and evaluation of field studies. Besides, will give more information about research ethics, gathering data and analyze, writing up and present research. At the end of the semester, all of these articles and approaches represent ways of meaning, which can be reconstructed and analyzed with different methods that allow the researcher to develop models, theories as ways of describing and explaining social issues.

Course Content: 

Quantitative and Qualitative Research Methods, Research Question, Research Design, Sampling, Quality in Research, Participant Observation, Research Ethics, Interview Techniques, Statistical Data, Verbal and Visual Data, Action Research, Analyzing the Data, Writing Ethnography
