Course Objectives: 

This course aims to explore the political and social dynamics that have brought about postmodernism, which has emerged in the second half of the 1900s in the world. The course also aims to critically analyse and evaluate in detail the reflections of postmodernism on the Western and Turkish literatures with examples.

Course Content: 

Postmodernism has gained momentum in every part of life and art in the second half of the 20th century. Its reflections on literature have been described as “path-breaking” for both the art and the science of literature. This course dwells on the relationship between postmodernism and literature. Examples of postmodern literary works from Western and Turkish literatures are analysed and evaluated in detail.
