Learning and understanding the intellectual and theoratical basis of contemporary acting theories and utilize this basis in acting practice.
In this course acting analysis and acting practices are done on the basis of contemporary theater, acting and dramaturgy theories. In this context, acting theory and practice and the intellectual basis of the works of theater people like Vsevolod Meyerhold, Konstantin Stanislavski, Michael Chekhov, Augusto Boal, Jerzy Grotowski, Sanford Meisner are applied on various play texts.
Students learn by homeworks and presentations that they do in class about contemporary theater, acting and dramaturgy theories. All these are tested in a written exam in mid-term. After the mid-term exam students try to apply what they have learned before the mid-term exam on stage. In the final exam a written and a practical exam is given to measure student’s theoratical and practical knowledge.
