Course Objectives: 

This course aims to give the historical development of research on folklore and folk literature in the World and Turkey, the contents, properties and functions of folklore, sources of folk literature and folk narratives. 

Course Content: 

The purpose of this course is to read major representative texts of oral culture from the Turkish Folk Literature, and to analyze them adopting an interdisciplinary methodology while addressing concepts, theories, and the research methods of folklore.
