Course Objectives: 

Main goal of this course is to state the emergence, development and essentials of the genre of modern short story. 

Course Content: 

This course fundamentally takes aim at the historical adventure of ‘short story’ in the Western world. Although this genre made its appearance in the Turkish literature in the last quarter of the 20th century, we will show that its roots go back to the oral tradition of the Turkish literature. In this course, representative short stories will be examined in detail in light of critical theories.
