Course Objectives: 

Main goal of the course is to analyze literary works composed in relation to Sufi view and to study philosophical background of classical texts.

Course Content: 

Sufi thought (the idea of Islamic mysticism) influenced both the classical literature and oral culture while creating special sub-branches in both fields. With this in mind, this course will pay special attention to some of the leading literary characters and the works of the Sufi Literature and the Tekke literature by adopting a critical and an interdisciplinary approach. Furthermore, the history of the Sufi thought, its philosophy, and related social structures will be discussed from the perspective of the literary theory.
