Course Objectives: 

The goal of the course is to combine psychology and literature in the frame of  psychoanalysis and study on psychoanalytical literary theory.

Course Content: 

Freud’s views that draw parallels between dreams and literary works generated rich evaluation procedures and viewpoints even after his demise. Psychoanalytic literary criticism emphasizes the role of writer-oriented criticism in interpreting literary works, and deals with literary works with their symbolic references. In this course, the roots and historical development of this perspective will be addressed, while chosen literary texts from the Turkish and the world literature will be evaluated in light of the psychoanalytic literary criticism.
