Course Objectives: 

Goal of this course is to study on political and social dynamics of modernism and postmodernism and their effects on western and Turkish literature through literary texts.

Course Content: 

Modernism in 20th century, and postmodernism in the second half of the 20th gained momentum in both the daily life and the world of art. The reflections of these movements on literature are considered to be groundbreaking. This course will address in particular the nature of the relation between modernism, postmodernism and the literature. Modernist and postmodernist literary examples of the Western and the Turkish literatures will be analyzed and evaluated.
